Bio

Born and raised on Vancouver Island in Qualicum Beach, Lisa lives in Oak Bay with her husband Dave and their three children. Mom life keeps her busy with Grady and fraternal twins Riley and Scarlett. All three kids are passionate about sports; the boys are passionate about hockey and lacrosse and Scarlett ballet while they all love skiing and golf.

She enjoys hobbies such as riding her Peleton bike, boxing at Spar Boxing and riding at Spinco. During the winter months the family enjoys spending time at Mt. Washington, where you can find her trying to keep up to her children and husband on her snowboard.

Overview:

Lisa began her career in dentistry as a certified dental assistant (CDA) graduating from Vancouver Island University, formally known as Malaspina University College in 1999. The majority of her career as a CDA in the specialty field of prosthodontics, she furthered her education by completing the Prosthodontic Module at Simon Fraser University enabling her to fabricate chair-side provisional crowns, bridges and veneers.

Her passion for education and working with people encouraged her to pursue her education in dental hygiene. Lisa graduated from Camosun College with honors and was the recipient of the Top Clinician Award and Top Overall Student Award, awarded by the College of Dental Hygienists’ and Sunstar Butler. May 2013 she completed her Baccalaureate Degree in Dental Sciences at the University of British Columbia. She then joined Camosun’s faculty teaching as a clinical instructor Fall of 2013 and continues on a part-time basis.

Currently, she also works with the College of Dental Hygienists writing Quality Assurance Program examination questions and is part of the Field Exam Testlet team. This is in addition to her ongoing Master’s in Education courses she is specializing in Distant Education.

As a registered dental hygienist, Lisa specializes in preventive oral health, providing professional treatment and advice to help people prevent or halt existing dental diseases, and to support overall health and wellness. She uses her knowledge and clinical skills to provide optimal, individualized dental hygiene care for each patient. As an integral part of the Harbourside Dentistry team, she works collaboratively with her team to meet the oral health needs of their patients.
